About the founder
Louis Spector, CMT
Louis serves as Director of CMT Curriculum for CMT
Association, where he leads the continued development
of the Chartered Market Technician® Program curriculum.
He played a central role in the redesign and launch of the
Association's 2025 digital curriculum and continues to
oversee its ongoing evolution.
He serves as staff liaison to both the Admissions
Committee and the Curriculum and Test Committee,
supporting the governance, development, and continuous
improvement of the CMT Program. He also co-chairs the New York City Chapter, helping to strengthen the community of technical analysts.
Louis's professional interests include technical analysis, momentum investing, behavioral finance, portfolio construction, quantitative market research, and the design of repeatable decision-making processes for probabilistic environments. His work focuses on developing rigorous educational content while remaining engaged with current research and evolving analytical methods in the field.
Louis holds a bachelor's degree with majors in philosophy and education, providing a strong foundation in critical thinking and instructional design. He also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the New York Institute of Technology, a certificate in financial modeling using Microsoft Excel from New York University, and the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation, the leading professional credential in technical analysis.
Outside of work, Louis enjoys reading, practicing yoga, identifying tree species, and studying synoptic-scale weather forecasting.
